Kansas City Electronic Manufacturer Representative Launches Cloud Technology to Green Up City via MDL Technology, LLC

November 23rd, 2010

Spectrum Sales, the premier electronic manufacturer’s sales and solutions representative firm in the Midwest, recently launched an energy efficient way to green up Kansas City. The new cloud technology, which Spectrum Sales started using, via MDL Technology, LLC, a Kansas City IT company, will increase energy efficiency, server storage and data protection.

Pat Powell, president of Spectrum Sales, said that the company was in need of a partner to help with cloud and IT management so they engaged with MDL Technology, LLC. ”To me, the cloud is processing, services and storage out on the Internet. We are using it in place of our former server-based network at Spectrum Sales. Cloud is energy efficient, and now we do not require a server that consumes power. We kept important files and information plus backups on a server and ran our outlook.pst on each of our own computers. This resulted in two problems: server management which required time and expertise, and infrequent backups resulting in catastrophic losses of data when laptops inevitably died,” said Mr. Powell.

Mark Dryer, president of MDL Technology, LLC, said, “Due to increased bandwidth and speed, more and more companies are able to take advantage of cloud technology. By utilizing cloud, companies do not burn as much energy, power or money to keep their IT equipment secure and affordable.”

Spectrum Sales is the premier electronic manufacturer’s sales and solutions representative firm in the Midwest, with offices in Kansas City, St. Louis and Iowa. Whether Spectrum Sales facilitates procurement directly from a manufacturer or through distribution, the team at Spectrum Sales is reliable for excellent technical and support staff http://www.spectrumsales.net/.

Thank you to Dave Ballard and Bill Wardell of CHWradio for interviewing Mark Dryer of MDL Technology, LLC

November 19th, 2010

Posted By: Mark Dryer

Thank you to Dave Ballard and Bill Wardell of CHWradio for interviewing Mark Dryer of MDL Technology, LLC, regarding information technology, security issues and MDL Technology, LLC.

From the interview:

Host: You know Mark, I often hear someone say, “be safe online.” It’s kind of like as parents, when your kids take off in the car you tell them, “drive carefully.” Now, it’s kind of a common phrase: “be safe online.” What does that mean to you and how do you achieve that?

Mark Dryer: To me it means to be diligent about knowing what sites you’re going on. Are they the intended sites? Have your protection up and running. If there are notifications or alerts from those systems–if you’re talking about an individual at home–don’t take it lightly. Make sure you’re responsive to it, and take it seriously.
