Prairie Village, Kan. will soon become a “Fiberhood” after the Prairie Village City Council approved a deal to welcome Google Fiber‘s high-speed Internet services into town. This deal makes Prairie Village the 12th city in the world to approve Google Fiber.
According to the Prairie Village Post, the dea will allow Google to construct buildings on city property to house some of its equipment and it includes a 10-year term of free public Wi-fi and broadband access. Even though the clock for the 10-year deal started ticking on Aug. 19, city leaders are still unclear about when Google Fiber will be reaching the city.
