Job Title: Cybersecurity Engineer

MDL Technology is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to join our growing cybersecurity team. This role is ideal for a seasoned security professional who can operate at an advanced technical level while also consulting directly with clients on cybersecurity strategy, remediation, and best practices.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience across cloud, SaaS, endpoint, and on-premises security environments and be comfortable working with external security operations partners, security tools, and client-facing recommendations.

Responsibilities 

  • ● Work closely with external SOC partners to review, investigate, escalate, and remediate security alerts
  • ● Manage and respond to SaaS security alerts across cloud environments
  • ● Support MDR and EDR platforms including tuning, investigation, and remediation
  • ● Perform vulnerability reviews, audits, and remediation planning
  • ● Assist clients with cybersecurity best practices across Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, and other business platforms
  • ● Review endpoint, firewall, identity, and email security posture
  • ● Design practical layered security solutions for client environments
  • ● Assist with incident response and security event investigations
  • ● Participate in client Business Technology Reviews and security planning discussions
  • ● Support security documentation, standards, and compliance-related remediation efforts
  • ● Collaborate with internal service and project teams to ensure security improvements are completed properly
  • ● Review and strengthen on-premises network security including firewalls, switches, wireless networks, and segmentation
  • ● Evaluate firewall rules, VPN configurations, and remote access security for best practice alignment
  • ● Assist with secure network design including VLANs, access controls, and internal segmentation
  • ● Identify and remediate on-premises security risks across servers, workstations, and network infrastructure
  • ● Support secure deployment and hardening of firewalls, wireless systems, and core network devices

Qualifications

  • ● 3+ years of cybersecurity, security operations, or advanced IT security experience
  • ● Strong understanding of MDR, EDR, SaaS security, endpoint security, cloud security, and vulnerability management
  • ● Ability to communicate technical recommendations clearly to clients
  • ● Experience designing security solutions and recommending best practices
  • ● Prior MSP experience strongly preferred
  • ● Previous MSSP experience preferred, but not required

Preferred Credentials 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Security+

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to support our growth efforts. This role is responsible for creating new opportunities through a combination of targeted outbound outreach, event engagement, and strategic follow-up.

This is not a high-volume cold-calling role. Success in this position comes from building trust, starting conversations, and creating qualified opportunities for the sales team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Outbound Prospecting & Engagement

  • Identify and research target organizations and key decision-makers
  • Execute thoughtful outreach via email, phone, and LinkedIn
  • Personalize messaging based on industry, role, and business needs
  • Secure introductory meetings and discovery conversations

2. Event-Driven Business Development

  • Support MDL-hosted and sponsored events (Topgolf, IT Symposium, HIMSS, etc.)
  • Engage attendees before, during, and after events
  • Conduct timely and professional follow-up to convert conversations into meetings
  • Help maximize ROI from event participation

3. Pipeline Development

  • Generate qualified opportunities for Account Executives
  • Maintain accurate activity and pipeline data in CRM (Autotask)
  • Track outreach, engagement, and conversion metrics

4. Collaboration with Sales & Solutions Teams

  • Work closely with Account Executives and Solutions Architects
  • Ensure smooth handoff of qualified opportunities
  • Provide context and insights gathered during outreach

Qualifications

Required:

  • 1–3 years of experience in sales, business development, or client-facing roles

  • Experience in IT services, managed services, or technology sales
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (Autotask or similar)

Position Summary

MDL Technology is seeking a highly capable Professional Solutions Consultant who can combine technical depth, business awareness, and strong client communication to help guide technology decisions for our clients.
This role is designed for a professional who can assess complex IT environments, identify risk and opportunity, design practical solutions, and communicate recommendations clearly to both internal teams and client leadership.
The Professional Solutions Consultant plays a critical role in helping MDL move beyond reactive support by bringing strategic insight to infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and long-term technology planning. This person will help shape project opportunities, support Business Technology Reviews (BTRs), develop Statements of Work (SOWs), and serve as a trusted technical voice in client relationships.
This is not a back-room engineering role. This position requires someone who is comfortable in front of clients, confident in technical conversations, and able to translate business needs into actionable solutions.

Core Responsibilities

Strategic Client Assessments

  • Evaluate client IT environments including networking, servers, wireless, firewalls, backups, virtualization, and cloud platforms such as Microsoft 365
  • Assess cybersecurity posture, operational maturity, lifecycle risk, and business continuity readiness
  • Identify technical gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
  • Recommend practical solutions aligned with business priorities and budget realities

Solution Design & Scope Development

  • Develop clear, accurate, and professional Statements of Work (SOWs)
  • Build technical recommendations for infrastructure upgrades, migrations, cybersecurity initiatives, and cloud improvements
  • Create documentation that supports successful project delivery and long-term support
  • Work closely with internal delivery teams to ensure scopes are realistic and executable

Business Technology Reviews (BTRs)

  • Participate in and often lead Business
  • Technology Reviews and quarterly strategic client meetings
  • Present technology findings, lifecycle planning, cybersecurity concerns, and roadmap recommendations
  • Help clients understand where they are today and where they need to go next
  • Support long-term trusted advisor relationships through clear strategic guidance

Client-Facing Technical Leadership

  • Attend client meetings with CSR, account management, or leadership teams
  • Present recommendations confidently to owners, executives, and operations leaders
  • Simplify technical complexity into business language clients can act on
  • Help create trust by bringing professionalism, preparedness, and technical credibility

Internal Collaboration

  • Partner with Professional Services, Service Desk, Security, and Sales teams
  • Assist in validating opportunities before projects begin
  • Support handoff from design into implementation
  • Help elevate internal technical standards through strong documentation and planning

Cloud & Advisory Leadership

  • Evaluate cloud maturity, licensing, identity security, and tenant health within Microsoft 365
  • Assess environments within Microsoft Azure where applicable
  • Identify modernization opportunities that improve security, efficiency, and scalability

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Strong technical foundation across networking, infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity
  • Proven ability to conduct assessments and present findings professionally
  • Strong writing skills for SOWs, recommendations, and technical documentation
  • Comfortable leading conversations with business decision makers
  • Experience in an MSP, MSSP, consulting, or advisory environment preferred
  • Experience conducting BTRs or Quarterly Business Reviews preferred
  • Experience using strategic tools such as MyITProcess or similar platforms strongly preferred
